What is the private Government Cloud?

The private part of the Government Cloud is a platform for cloud computing of the state administration that dynamically provides and releases shared technical resources, such as servers, storage, databases, applications, and more.

The government cloud operated by the Ministry of the Interior reduces costs for numerous public administration institutions.

For more than eight years, the Ministry has been running storage and systems within the government cloud, which has gradually replaced the operations of many state-owned server rooms. It provides services to more than 50 state organizations and supports over 200 projects.

Efficient Infrastructure

The cloud platform optimizes resource utilization and reduces costs by integrating various systems into a single solution. New platform services such as LPA, NPP, PPU, and Exchange - MAIL provide fast and efficient management of applications and email services, enhancing efficiency and reducing the need for multiple isolated systems.

Lower Operating Cost

The standardized environment of the Government Cloud replaces multiple server rooms, thereby reducing operational expenses. New services like HSM and KMS ensure key management and hardware security, which lowers management costs and enhances security.

Increased Security

The infrastructure meets strict security standards, with all data stored within the territory of Slovakia. New security measures, including multifactor authentication (MFA) and SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), offer high levels of protection and ensure secure data transmission.

Comprehensive Automation

The cloud includes orchestration and automation tools that enable automated creation, modification, and deletion of requested services. These tools not only reduce the need for manual interventions but also increase the accuracy and speed of processes, contributing to a more stable and reliable IT environment.

High Availability

The infrastructure is designed according to the N+1 model, ensuring high redundancy and continuous operation. New monitoring tools such as Zabbix and Flowmon provide advanced tracking capabilities, ensuring that systems remain operational and that issues are quickly resolved.

Easy Scalability

The cloud allows for flexible addition of server or disk capacity according to current needs. New enhancements improve user comfort when scaling up resources.

Enhanced Security

The Privileged Access Management (PAM) service enhances security by providing controlled access to sensitive systems, monitoring administrator activities, and automating password rotation. This service helps protect against unauthorized access, offering centralized control over access rights, which contributes to increased security and transparency.

Monitoring and Reporting

Improvements in IaaS-level reporting and advanced monitoring tools provide detailed insights into the status of infrastructure and services. New features enable more effective performance tracking and faster problem resolution, enhancing the reliability and availability of services.

Comprehensive Optimization

Platform CSP optimization includes enhancements to bulk export/import request processing, enabling faster and more efficient handling of large projects. New filtering options for network settings increase flexibility and precision in configuration, streamlining management processes.

Increased Transparency

The updated website provides all necessary information about the Government Cloud, increasing transparency and keeping both new and existing customers well-informed.

Simplified Management

Improved access to infrastructure allows users easy and efficient access to the virtual server console and optimized VPN access to the cloud environment. These enhancements simplify the management and access to IT resources, making administration more straightforward.
